Justin was clean, professional and honest, he showed up when he said he would and completed the work in a timely manner and never held anyone else up. I would hire him again.
The comical thing about all of this is when I initially spoke with Justin, he mentioned how small the bitterroot was, and that there’s only so many customers you can screw before word gets around and you have no customers. (In an attempt to comfort me about the potential cost and assure me of his integrity). Well, the bitterroot IS really small, and Amp’d will not be getting any referrals from me, and I will not use them again.
I had sent Justin photos of the Work needing to be done prior to the date, and he was highly confident it would be less than a few hundred bucks.... his words were "shouldn't take more than a few hours at $75/hour," so i feel like saying a few hundred bucks is generous on my part. Well, the bill came back MORE THAN DOUBLE THAT. In the neighborhood of $600-$700. My wife went ahead and paid it before we talked about it. Even though we'd already paid him, I reached out to Justin and told him I felt misled and felt like I had paid for numerous hours of his tech scratching his head, and he essentially said “sorry you feel that way, tough luck.”
Justin (the boss) shows up: now I’m paying $75/hour for two guys, and Justin knew exactly what to do, which of course tells me he had not indeed taught his tech everything he knows. So now I’m paying $150/hour essentially for a training session for his tech, who did the grunt work and took instructions from his boss after he showed up.
Unfortunately, had Justin done the work himself, or stayed remotely close to his estimate, maybe I would be elated with his service. He did seem very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The tech was friendly as well, I just don’t feel that his education should be on my dime.
The work was done quicker than I expected and well within the cost range I was given. I will be using their services again,
Unfortunately I was unhappy with my service. Initially, Justin seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. Here’s where things went wrong: he sent his technician over that he said was also knowledgeable and that he had “taught him everything he knows.” His tech showed up and didn’t know what to do, so I paid him $75/hour for probably at least 3 hours to scratch his head and text pictures to his boss because he didn’t know what to do.
Justin is a true professional with all the experience you would expect from a skilled electrician along with excellent problem solving skills.
My experience with amp'd electric very good. The original price was honored, work was done on time and I appreciated his professional advice! Would hire him again.
